The first step is a clinical assessment and lip filler consultation at our 101 Harley Street, Marylebone clinic. Once we decide together how to augment and rejuvenate your lips and if you decide to go ahead with the lip filler treatment, a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) will be applied to your whole lip area. The lip fillers will then be injected into the carefully selected areas, and massaged into your lips.

You’ll be with us at our Harley Street clinic for about an hour. That gives us time for your lip filler consultation and to answer any questions you might have.
As a non-surgical cosmetic treatment, lip fillers are very popular treatment, however you must be wary of going to an inexperienced or unlicensed beautician for your lips (or any treatment) as the risk of complications and unsatisfactory results increases. There may be some swelling or redness, but this will subside soon after the lip filler treatment. There may also be some minor bruising post treatment. Swelling in the lips is more common then other areas, it will take a bit of time, a few days to a week for the true result to show so don’t be alarmed if they look slightly larger than you initially discussed with Dr Duncan. If you have any concerns call our team immediately.
Discomfort is usually very minor. The topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) we use for lip injections is very effective. In addition, the dermal fillers also contain anaesthetic to reduce pain.
Any swelling or redness will subside soon after the treatment but until it does, avoid sun beds, saunas, steam rooms and extreme temperatures. There may be some minor bruising, but this will go down after a few days. It’s also important to not wear make-up for 12 hours after your treatment.
