An Effective Face Lift With No Downtime!

  • Blogs

Thanks to a combination of being affected by gravity over many years and a decrease in our collagen levels when we get older, many of us get frustrated when our faces begin to travel southwards. Nobody really wants to look their age, not once we’ve passed 30 anyway, but what’s the alternative? A surgical facelift? Not anymore. We’re offering non-invasive facelifts from our Harley Street clinic, which will give you an effective rejuvenation, but with none of the downtime!

What is an 8-point lift?

An 8-point lift is a treatment that provides similar results to a surgical facelift but is achieved by administering dermal fillers into 8 different entry points in the face. Where the dermal fillers will be applied depends on the individual, as people age in different ways.

However, common key target areas include sunken areas under the eyes, around the temples, in the cheekbones, the lips, the chin and the jawline. Fillers can also be used to make subtle changes to the tip of the nose and reduce the visibility of both nasolabial and marionette lines.

How do dermal fillers work?

The gel substances that will be injected painlessly into the key areas contain hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid soaks up water like a sponge under the skin and causes a cushioning effect, making skin appear more youthfully plump than it actually is. The results of the treatment will be visible immediately following treatment, but bear in mind there may be some redness or bruising, that may take a few hours to settle down.  You will be well enough to return to work straight away following your 8-point facelift.

What is a thread lift?

Thread lifts are achieved by inserting a thread into the lower face. Cones attached to the thread stick to the skin on the inside and lift it upwards. The additional collagen that is created, due to the body being tricked into thinking it has a wound, then produces tighter, firmer skin in the area.

The benefits of a non-invasive lift from our Harley Street clinic

Surgical lifts do last longer than non-invasive face lifts. Dermal fillers and thread lifts last for approximately 6-12 months, rather than years, but they do offer plenty of other benefits. For instance, when you have surgery, you can expect a lengthy hospital stay and must be aware of the fact that due to the nature of this procedure you are placing yourself at greater risk of infection and having something go wrong.

When surgery is over, there will then be a long recovery period, during which you will not be able to work. As you’re not ill at this time you will have to be booked off work as annual leave. There’s also the scarring to consider. Although your surgeon will naturally try his or her best to provide discreet sutures (or so you’d hope), scarring is usually inevitable. The scars will fade from red to white over time, but you probably won’t lose them altogether.

You shouldn’t experience any scarring with an 8-point lift, or a thread lift and you’ll feel fine and pain-free afterwards. You should also walk out of our clinic with a noticeable rejuvenation!

Should you wish to find out more about our 8-point lifts or thread lifts, why not book a facelift consultation with us here on Harley Street? We’ll talk you through the areas we’re going to target and give you a better idea of what the procedure involves. To turn back the clock by several years, please give us a call, or send us an email.
