However, with such a popular trend there are questions that you need to ask yourself before considering lip fillers such as how to ensure your safety when undergoing lip filler treatment. As it stands in the United Kingdom, it is possible for anyone to perform lip fillers, but this doesn’t mean they should do so. The legislation states that performing Botox using Botulinum Toxin is prohibited because this requires a prescription only used for cosmetic and aesthetic purposes only. However, this doesn’t mean dermal fillers are prescription based which means anyone can perform this treatment and although this may be the case, it certainly isn’t worth taking the risk.
Prior to your treatment, the consultation stage is the most important time during your lip filler journey because this is where you can question the professionalism of your practitioner and whether they seem trustworthy and have made the effort to ensure your safety. If you were expecting to read dermal fillers come with no side effects, then unfortunately this isn’t the case. However, the side effects are entirely normal and do subside fairly quickly. You may experience some mild swelling and redness during and after the dermal filler treatment although typically this should subside within 2-3 days after your treatment. Mild bruising is also common at the injection points; however, this should also only last a few days post-treatment.
