Could Your Skin Use A Chemical Peel?

  • Blogs

Have you looked in the mirror recently and done a double take because the face staring back at you with the tired, dull, congested skin looks like how you’d imagine you’d look in 10 years’ time – not now! Lack of sleep, too much work, drinking alcohol and eating unhealthy foods can all play havoc with our skin, but that doesn’t mean the situation isn’t reversible.

Even natural signs of ageing can be reduced and removed. Here at the L’Atelier practice, in London’s prestigious Harley Street, chemical peels are just some of the tools we use to beat the clock into submission and dial the hands back a few years! We can revitalise your skin, restoring a healthier and more youthful glow.

In addition to helping you look younger, a chemical peel can also potentially resolve any skin issues you’re experiencing. Spots, pimples, clogged pores and pigmentation issues can all be cleared up via this treatment to provide you with a more even skin tone.

What happens during a chemical peel treatment?

During a chemical peel at our Mayfair clinic, the surface layer of your skin is exfoliated. You may exfoliate regularly with a skincare product that you buy from the pharmacy, but the sort of exfoliation a professional chemical peel can provide will be quite different. Because a practitioner who has had medical training will be in charge of the procedure, stronger active ingredients can be used and a more dramatic result can be achieved.

The peel solution will be painted onto the area affected by blemishes, pigmentation problems, or signs of ageing and left there for a few minutes before being washed away. That’s essentially all there is to it. Within approximately 6 days, your skin in this area may begin to feel tighter and that’s a signal to you that the peeling is about to start.

The chemical peel solution that we’ll paint on in our Harley Street clinic has tons of benefits and will be made up of ingredients determined by your skin complaints. During your consultation with our experienced practitioner, we’ll assess your skin with a view to putting together the best peel solution. The peel can penetrate different skin depths depending on what you want to achieve.

Once the peeling has finished, fresher, younger skin tissue will be revealed and your skin complaint should be improved. After several treatment sessions, it may be possible to remove the skin complaint altogether. Getting a chemical peel done? Make sure to check out our aftercare guide.

Sofwave stimulates collagen to lift and tighten, but this is just one part of the overall plan. Depending on the skin, we may pair it with treatments that support tissue repair, improve texture, boost hydration or refine facial structure. Different treatments do different jobs, which is why combination plans often give the best outcome.

#sofwave #skintightening #collagenstimulation #nonsurgicallift #sofwavelondonThe Classic HydraFacial is great for a general refresh. But the Advanced HydraFacial is where the real customisation happens. By adding lymphatic drainage and targeted boosters, we can tailor the treatment to your skin’s specific needs; whether that’s congestion, redness, dehydration or early signs of ageing. Because your skin isn’t one-size-fits-all.
