Does mesotherapy help with tired skin?

  • Blogs

We’ve probably all been guilty of scrutinising our selfies and judging ourselves harshly. After all, we are all our own worse critics, but if you could change anything about your face and body, just one thing, what would it be?

For those of us in our 40s and 50s, it could well be the case, that we’d like to get rid of some of the signs of ageing that seem to have appeared recently. Lines and wrinkles are the result of a reduction in collagen production, but just knowing this doesn’t make us feel any better about our appearance.

If you struggle with stubborn pockets of extra weight, that you can’t seem to shift, such as belly fat, or excess pounds on the upper arms, then you might wish for a more slender figure in these areas. Would removing these, along with the cellulite that often appears with excess skin, make you feel much happier about wearing your swimming costume? If so, you’re not alone. Many of our clients feel the same way.

Here at L’Atelier Aesthetics, we have one particular treatment that corrects both problems outlined above and the clients who have tried it, come back for their maintenance top ups a couple of times a year. It’s called mesotherapy and it’s pretty impressive.

What is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is an injectable treatment, which is prepared according to individual needs. The syringe contains a cocktail of minerals, vitamins and amino acids, all designed to nourish the skin, refresh it and bring back its firmness, as well as provide you with a healthy glow.

Your practitioner may inject you several times in order to achieve a good coverage in the target skin area. This won’t hurt because an anaesthetic cream will have been applied beforehand. The whole procedure can take up to 30 minutes, maybe longer if you’re targeting a large expanse of skin, such as the thighs or the abdomen. Afterwards you may have a few scratches on your face from the needle, but this will settle down very quickly. You should begin to see results within a few days.

Mesotherapy is great for the face as it can reduce acne scars, boost collagen and firm up the neck. As for mesotherapy for the body, it can provide contouring to give you a more flattering figure and even up the skin tone and texture in cellulite heavy areas. It’s highly likely that just one session will not be enough to make a difference. When you meet your practitioner for your consultation, you’ll be able to discuss your treatment plan, but be aware that you may need 6-8 sessions, before you achieve your skin goals.
