A silhouette thread lift offered by our experienced team of doctors here at L’atelier in Harley Street will combat age-related sagging in the lower face. Our customers have reported that it is preferable to a surgical facelift because of the lack of recovery time, pain and scarring involved in the procedure – to achieve similar results.
Following a Silhouette thread lift, you should notice an immediate difference in your jawline. It should look firmer and consequently younger too. As the weeks pass and the increased collagen production in your skin (stimulated by the thread lift) comes into effect, you should experience a further rejuvenation.
Thread lift or Dermal Fillers?
Thread lifts and Dermal fillers can in fact work together to produce a fresh and youthful appearance. Here at L’Atelier Aesthetics in Mayfair, we have performed many thread lifts on our customers, who are reportedly delighted with the effects. Their lower faces have been effectively lifted without a surgical knife in sight and the results have been known to last for up to 18 months. However, although the skin around their jawline is tighter following a Silhouette thread lift, it does nothing to combat skin that has thinned with age. Dermal fillers are required for this task and used in combination with a thread lift, you could find yourself looking significantly younger in a natural-looking way. Let’s have a look at both of these treatments; Silhouette thread lifts and dermal fillers, with a view to understanding what makes them such effective cosmetic treatments and how they can work together.
About Silhouette thread lifts
The Silhouette thread lift procedure involves inserting ultra fine threads under your facial skin. A local anaesthetic is used to ensure you’re comfortable throughout. It takes about an hour. The threads lift the lower face and the natural repair system in your body this action triggers, forces an increase in collagen production for enhanced rejuvenation results. Your lower face should look tighter and younger following treatment.
About dermal fillers
Dermal fillers in London are administered by injection into targeted areas of the face, where the collagen is weak and the skin has thinned as a result; such as under the eyes, around the cheeks and in the nasolabial folds. They consist of hyaluronic acid gels, which soak up water under the skin like a sponge, causing a cushioning effect on the skin above and effectively plumping it up.
The results of the Dermal filler treatment should be obvious immediately, although there may be a little (very short-lived) redness, tenderness or bruising at the injection site. Once the results of dermal filler treatment are apparent, you should have a more even skin tone and skin with a more youthful volume. The bags under your eyes should be greatly diminished and deep creases smoothed over.
